Define LOVE

Sigh..I can smell the arrival of break-up season.

Many of my friends are encountering relationship issues and one of my favourite couple who have been together for 9 long years were separated. How sad :C

I always thought that they are the model couple that everyone should learn from. Seven years.. I'm sure it wasnt easy.

Nowadays, people fall in love easily and break up easily. I wonder do they even understand what's the meaning of love?

I, too, didnt know the meaning of love until I found God. A friend of mine has also shared about the definition of LOVE with me today...her teaching has opened my eyes and i have a deeper understanding of love now. I think I should really share this with everyone of you. I hope what I shared will somehow change the perception of LOVE in your dictionary.

Look at the world now, did u realise that we are living in a sinful and fallen world? How good if we can change the world by loving everyone on Earth, just like how Jesus love us. The love that the media potraying is self-seeking and selfish love. And that is how the people nowadays define "love". Think again, is this love? or maybe LUST?

In the bible, 1 John 2:16 stated : For everything in the world- the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does- comes not from the Father but the world.

Most people want to find a partner just because they are lonely, need someone to fulfil their own needs, to boast.. and this is not true love! It will not last!

So what is the true meaning of LOVE?

1 Cor13:4-7 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoice with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Do I still need to explain more? Love is unfailing, unconditional, eternal, forgiving, sacrificial..

If you love somebody, you will not expect him/her to return anything to you. God is the best example. He love all of us so much that He sacrifice His one and only son (Jesus) for our sin! He love everyone of us, even the non-christians! The bible teach us to love our family, friends,neigbour, and even our enemy!

GOD IS LOVE, LOVE IS GOD!

Friends, we are gifted to love; and it is our nature that we want to be loved as well. We want to look for love, not lust! So, let us love people with the right attitude and the right heart.

We can make a difference!
